WWDC<\/a>. \u00a0And I felt a little underwhelmed. \u00a0Not because they didn’t show off some cool software. \u00a0Not because they didn’t somehow figure out a way to get the room excited about a new coding app. \u00a0But because there wasn’t any hardware mentioned.<\/p>\nI, like a lot of people, tune into WWDC to hear about new computers, iPads, iPhones and anything else hardware related. \u00a0And the software is just filler material that gets in the way. \u00a0And this year they didn’t do anything like that. \u00a0And while this made me wish I hadn’t wasted the time watching the keynote, it does make me happy for Apple.<\/p>\n
I know, I’m talking out of both sides of my mouth here. \u00a0But, this is the\u00a0W<\/strong>orldw<\/strong>ide\u00a0D<\/strong>evelopers\u00a0C<\/strong>onference. \u00a0Not the hardware conference. \u00a0So I think Apple did a great job of bringing a lot of stuff to the table that is\u00a0specifically\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>for developers. \u00a0Those of us who don’t develop anything. \u00a0Or, who pay others to do it, don’t fully understand what this WWDC is all about. \u00a0It isn’t about the hardware. \u00a0It is all about the software. \u00a0So in the past, when Apple has shown us hardware things, that was really the filler material for the developers.<\/p>\nThat my friends is why I’m happy for Apple. \u00a0They got back to the root of the conference. \u00a0Although it has always been about software. \u00a0They didn’t make it about hardware. They didn’t showcase any hardware. They made it about what it should be made about and for. \u00a0The developers. \u00a0And it is because I don’t care about software stuff, that WWDC didn’t do anything for me. \u00a0And that is the way it should be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
